Services until January 17 (January 8, 2021)
From the viewpoint of preventing the spread of infection and the status of the facility use, the opening hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on January 9 and 10.
After January 11, the opening hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and only taking out things will be available inside the buildings.
The buildings will be closed due to the Common Test for University Admissions on January 16 and 17.
By January 13, we will decide and announce our response after January 18.
The reasons for the decision will be announced on the website later.
Outlook (January 8, 2021)
On January 7, the government declared a state of emergency in Tokyo.
Our committee is currently considering our response, but since the status of the Komaba Campus is still “Stage Yellow”, the buildings are open as usual today.
In addition, we may close the buildings earlier, but the buildings are scheduled to be open during the day.
Our response after January 11 will be announced after today’s night.

Opening hours in January (December 19, 2020)
In January, the buildings will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. in principle. If we can secure enough staff members both in Student Building and Campus Plaza, the buildings will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The buildings will be closed due to the New Year holidays from January 1 to 3, and due to the Common Test for University Admissions on January 16 and 17. A lot of committee staff members take classes online, so we may not secure enough staff members every day. Please note that we close at 4:50 p.m. basically.
We decided the opening hours from January 4 to 15 by December 31, and from January 18 to 31 by January 10. Currently the opening days calendar shows ‘close at 4:50 p.m.’ all days, but we will renew it. The Opening hours will be irregular, so be sure to check the website before you visit the buildings.
Resumption of Use of Equipment / Machines in the Lobby(December 19, 2020)
We have decided to resume use of equipment and machines in the lobby. This measure will be taken due to requests for use of equipment associated with use of Common Use Rooms and printers. This measure is a trial during December. Please note that this measure is subject to change depending on the infection status and the status of the facility use.
In addition, Large format printing will be resumed in Student Building Office. For details, see Use of Equipment/Machines in the Lobby(only available in Japanese).
Opening hours in December(November 19, 2020)
In December, the buildings will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on weekdays and from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on holidays. However, if we can secure enough staff both in Student Building and Campus Plaza on weekdays, the buildings will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The buildings will be closed due to the scheduled power outage on December 5, and due to the New Year holidays from December 28 to January 3.
We decided to shorten the opening hours on weekdays according to the college’s request.
We lengthen the opening hours because it is hoped by many users. A lot of committee staff members take classes online, so we may not secure enough staff every weekday. Please note that we close at 4:15 p.m. basically.

The questionnaire results(November 19, 2020)
We took a questionnaire about Student Building and Campus Plaza, and we received answers from 109 people. Thank you for answering our questionnaire. The results are as follows.
We decided the opening schedule in November according to the results, and we will refer to it to make decisions. Besides, we are planning to hold a public meeting in December. If you hope to take part in it, check our announcement.
Limited Use of Common Use Rooms (November 9, 2020)
We decided to resume lending Common Use Rooms for the groups that meet the requirements by lottery.
If you applied in advance and the application is permitted, your group can do the activities. You need to submit an activity plan, an application form and your group member list. Read the instructions on Limited Use of the Rooftops/Common Use Rooms (only available in Japanese) carefully. If your group does activities that are not permitted, we may impose a penalty on the group and the individual, and cancel the resumption of activities.
We unified the application method for the rooftops and Common Use Rooms, and moved the contents related to the rooftops to the above page. The lottery of Common Use Rooms and the rooftops will be conducted together.
Currently, only 4 rooms which are relatively large are available, but we plan to gradually reopen smaller Common Use Rooms in a few months. The measures taken by the Committee and the outlook for resumption are as follows. Note that this is just an implementation plan and subject to change.

Student Building Committee
Use of the Rooftops and Printers(October 1, 2020)
Due to the spread of the Novel Coronavirus Disease, extracurricular activities in Student Building and Campus Plaza have been prohibited. We held a discussion with the College and decided to resume the use of printers in the lobby of Student Building and extracurricular activities on the rooftops of Campus Plaza.These services can be provided to the groups which meet the requirements and are chosen by lottery.

Opening hours during the Autumn Semester(September 19, 2020)
From September 25 to October 31, we open the buildings from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. This is because there are not enough staff to work in the Office in the fifth period on weekdays. On holidays, we open the buildings from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Note that our services are the same as before; you can only carry in/out things in the buildings.
Opening Days in September(August 24, 2020)
During the summer vacation (until September 24), we open the buildings from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day. We provide our services in the same way we did from August 6 to August 10. For more details, see “Announcement of opening and resuming some services (August 2) (added August 4)”. We will reconsider our response based on how classes will be conducted in the next semester.
Continuation of Limited Opening(August 13, 2020)
After August 17, we provide our services in the same way we did from August 6 to August 10. Opening hours in September will be determined based on the spread of infection. We will let you know as soon as possible.
Announcement of opening and resuming some services (August 2) (added on August 4)
Due to the spread of the Novel Coronavirus Disease, Student Building and Campus Plaza have been closed for a long time. Since the University and the College of Arts and Sciences decided to resume extracurricular activities, we held a discussion with the College and decided to restart some services in Student Building and Campus Plaza. However, it is still necessary to take maximum measures to prevent the spread of infection. Therefore, please understand that only limited services will be restarted at this moment.
《The Application Form for Campus Entry/Entry and Exit Records》
Before visiting Student Building/Campus Plaza, all visitors must apply for campus entry from the application website of the UTokyo Komaba I Campus.

After entering the campus, head to the building and borrow the key at the counter to use your clubroom. Scan the QR code attached to the room door when you enter and leave the clubroom, and send the Entry and Exit Records. Anyone who enters the room must do this.
《The Use of Clubrooms and the Lobbies》
For the time being, all activities will be prohibited in clubrooms and common areas (the lobbies, corridors, etc.). You can only carry things into/out from clubrooms or circle lockers. Do not do other activities inside the buildings.
《Printers, Equipment, Common Use Rooms 》
Reservation and use of printers, equipment, Common Use Rooms will continue to be suspended.
《Large Format Printing》
Large Format Printing will not be accepted.
You cannot receive parcels at Student Building/Campus Plaza. You cannot send them to the buildings, either.
- Please come with the minimum number of people.
- Those who do not belong to the University of Tokyo (students at other universities, etc.) are not allowed to enter.
- You can only carry in/out things.
- Other activities are NOT allowed inside the buildings (including clubrooms, lobbies, corridors, rooftops, etc.).
- When you enter and leave a room, all those who enter the room must send the Entry and Exit Records.
- Be sure to finish your work within 30 minutes.
Request for infection prevention
- Do not enter the building if you have a cold or fever or feel unwell.
- Be sure to wear a mask in the buildings.
- When you are in a room, open the windows and the door to ventilate it.
- We provide disinfectant near the entrance of each building. When you enter the building, please disinfect your hands.
Depending on the situation, the services may be suspended and the buildings may be closed. If your group will use Student Building/Campus Plaza, please make a flexible plan and check the latest information published on our Twitter account and this Website. If you are a Student Building Contact Committee member, please also check the emails from us.
If infection is confirmed in Student Building/Campus Plaza, we will respond according to the instructions from the University and the public health center. In some cases, we may close the buildings for a long time. The number of people who work at the counter is limited, and it is impossible to strictly check whether all the visitors follow the above.
Thank you for your cooperation in order to prevent the spread of infection in the campus, which leads to prohibition of extracurricular activities and long-term closing of Student Building/Campus Plaza.
